Hey there,
What a busy week! I have had a very busy week with all the papers due on these days, the presentations, and the finals that are coming up. In order to feel better and not to exhaust myself, I go to play soccer twice a week with the Japanese friends.
Today is gonna be a nice day for me. First because I woke up a little late this morning , trying to catch up with what I missed last week. Then, because I will have soccer game this afternoon, and finally, because I will meet with Imane and Rabie to watch a movie tonight.
I believe that even of the exams are at doors, the best thing everyone could do is to keep the same pace in order to do well in the finals. This is my strategy when it comes to the school.

Usually, students get confused, stressed out, and puzzled. They think that changing their schedules is gonna help them get better grades. According to my experience, I believe that students have to focus a little more by the end of the semester, and not changing the whole plan, and trying not to have fun the away the used to before the exams.
Well, this is just an idea, advice, or a thought. Whatever you wanna call it, I believe that it works with me all the time. It might be helpful to you too!

Hi, this is Ai. How’s everybody doing?

Ms. Brenda just came back from China this week. Welcome back Ms. Brenda )))
She brought us back nice gifts, pretty key-chains from China and … some snack from JAPAN!!!! On her way back from China, she had a time at Narita airport (Japan) waiting for the connecting flight.
Obviously I was the one who appreciated this gift the most. This snack is my favorite EVER!

This snack is called Kaki-pi. Usually Kaki-pi is a set of small moon-shaped rice crackers with soy sauce flavor, and some peanuts. Seems like this is becoming popular in our office now.

Sometimes Kaki-pi package contains small dried-fish, called Niboshi. (It means boiled-dried, describing the literal process of making this product.)  This ingredient is my favorite, too but it may look sort of nasty, since its appearance is … literally DEAD FISH. (borrowing a word of Ms. Brenda, who has tasted Niboshi before.)

Heyyyy people, I know it looks … even scary but it tastes good! you gotta try some…

“A night under the stars!” This was the motto of Beta/ Gamma Commons event last night when Andrea and her assistants organized a prom at the commons. the people that attended this prom had a lot of fun. everyone brought his date with him, and the place was full of joy and the music was loud. There was also some food served.

In addition to that, the University of South Alabama is hosting many other events during this week. Tonight for instance, there will be a concert at mitchell Center, where the OneRepublic band will  stand on the stage and sing their famous songs. I am sure that there will be many people attending this concert as the band is well known in the area.

In addition, there will be some cultural events in the student center. One of them is the multiculturalism in a classroom. Dr. Richard Hayes will moderate a panel discussion by USA faculty on issues and strategies involved in leading classroom discussions around sensitive multicultural issues.

I have an evining class tonight, so I am not sure whether I will be able to attend the OneRepublic concert. I have planned to go with some friends, however, all depends on what time I will get done with the class.

The Festival was amazing!! (I don’t really think I need to say that here. It is pretty obvious to everybody.)

Congratulations to all teams that received the prizes!!!

Exhibits were amazing, they all had a “Small ver. of their country” in the Student Center lobby.

Being one of the team members in the talent show, I felt, through my skin, all their passions and motivations. Cool dresses, cultural perfomance, music, dances…. I can never talk too much about it!

Now I’m looking forward to the videos and photos from the Festival.

New Vocabulary!!

It was about 2 days ago, I was working in the ISS office.

My boss asked me to look something up for her, that another stuent worker (whose name is S*q*b. lol) could not find the day before.

She said “He was kinda half-a** looking, and he cound not find it!!”

I ended up grabbing that folder from the box Sa*i* looked at. He was making an excuse in front of me while I was looking for it. Then I found it right in front of him…. hehehehe

So, the expression “half-*ss” means something in half-way, or something like that.

It was new slang I learned that day. ;)
